Who can benefit from neurofeedback?
Anyone interested in improving their mental performance and reaching a calmer state of mind can benefit
from neurofeedback. Everyone from students to athletes to musicians to business executives use
neurofeedback to improve their focus, clarity, memory and creativity, and to reduce stress and anxiety.

Those with clinical disorders can also benefit: Multiple studies show that neurofeedback is beneficial for
people with ADD/ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorder, autism and Asperger’s syndrome, depression, post-
traumatic stress, sleep disorders, chronic headaches and more.

What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is possibly the most powerful transformative technology available today. It is a gentle,
noninvasive process which utilizes information about your brainwaves to facilitate better mental performance,
health, and well-being. It is like exercise for your brain- “training” it to work at its peak potential.

How does it work?
Neurofeedback utilizes EEG technology to record the moment-to-moment changes in your brainwaves. Music
and animation feedback are then used to provide you with information about your own brainwave pattern.
Your brain utilizes this information to create a more  focused, calm, and resilient state of mind.

How does Neurofeedback compare to medication?
The medical/pharmacological model assumes that health problems are a result of an excess or deficit in a
specific biochemical. A manufactured chemical (the drug) is administered in order to restore the balance, in
many cases by-passing the body’s own regulatory processes.

Neurofeedback is based on a different principle. The brain is provided with information about its own function
so that it can heal itself and function more efficiently.  In many cases the outcome of training can equal or
even surpass that of medication.

Do the results last?
The benefits of neurofeedback continue long after the training has stopped. Once the brain has learned to
operate in a new, more efficient way, the positive outcomes are self-reinforcing – you have broadened your
mind. Some clients may choose to return for a tune-up to better cope with new life challenges.

What is a session like?
You will be seated in an armchair in front of a computer screen with earphones, either listening to music you
like, watching animation, or enjoying a movie. Sensors will be placed on your head and ears. And all you have
to do is enjoy this opportunity to relax. You will notice short interruptions in the music, which occur in response
to specific brain patterns. These interruptions are actually what communicate these patterns back to your
brain.

How many training sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies and usually ranges from 20 to 35. Some individuals will reach their goal in 5-
15 sessions; others report continuous improvement over a much larger number of sessions. Ideally you would
have 2-3 sessions weekly. It is possible, however, to see considerable improvement with one session a week.

What should I expect from the training?
Clients usually report a significant improvement after 3-6 sessions; some clients may notice changes after the
first training. Each person is different, and it is hard to determine where changes will first appear.
You may notice an increase in mental clarity and ability to focus, improved sleep, decreased stress, or just
and overall sense of contentment, wholeness. Over time, the positive changes solidify, major issues can be
resolved, and new life directions may open before you.
